Bus Services
The NTA (National Transport Authority) published the new Dublin Area bus network in September 2020. The network is arranged on the basis of spines radiating from the city centre. These routes are intersected by orbital routes concentric to the city centre.
The C route spine serves Sandymount, travelling from Irishtown/Ringsend via Tritonville Road, Sandymount Road, Gilford Road, Park Avenue to the terminus at St John’s Church. This provides the arterial frequent service to the city centre.
The C Spine is bisected by the S2 Orbital route that enters Sandymount at Sandymount DART Station travelling eastbound along Sandymount Avenue, Gilford Road, Dromard Terrace, Beach Road and onwards to the terminus at the roundabout ending Seán Moore Road.
The westbound S2 route travels via New Grove Terrace in lieu of Dromard Terrace and by the South side of the Village Green. There is no public transport route along the northside of Sandymount Village Green. The westbound route connects to a number of urban villages including Ranelagh and Rathmines to as far as Heuston Station.
