Small Moves, Big Impact

Trails

Sandymount has unique literary, historical, and ecological assets, along with architectural features which reflect its development over many centuries.

Unfortunately, these are not obvious to residents and visitors alike and their unique value as an amenity is underexploited.

There is an enormous opportunity through the installation of well-designed and located storyboarding at key points around the village (examples illustrated below) to bring these unique features to life and enhance significantly the sense of belonging among the community and enrich the experience for visitors and tourists.

It also presents an opportunity to enable pupils in the many schools in the area and surrounding villages to become more aware of their environment and sense of place.

Combined they would be attractive destination activities for visitors to Dublin and create obvious spin-off impacts for local traders.
